Gay Pride v3

In 1979, the original pride flag was changed one more time.

San Francisco's famous Market Street wanted to hang the flag from lamp posts, but the odd number of stripes make it awkward to split the flag and hang it vertically on either side of the pole.

The decision was made that it was easier to remove the turquoise stripe and change the indigo to royal blue than to replace the still impossible to find hot pink - giving us the six color flag that we still use today.

Mr. Baker, the designer of the original pride flag, was known to call this "the commercial version".
