Mid-Atlantic Leather 1998 gives us the Boy Flag, created by Keith Pollanen. Mr. Pollanen says he was inspired after a conversation with Tony DeBlase, creator of the Leather Pride flag.
Mr. Pollanen claimes he chose to keep the basic elements of the leather flag, but make small changes to bring the flag more in line with feelings of and meaning to boys. The stripes are horizontal to represent the relationship of Sir to Boy, tilting from top to bottom and the heart was moved to the right, as "to the right" was the proper place for a boy.
The blue stripes were changed to green because boys are "greenhorns" - either because they are actually new to the life, or because they are always learning from the elders and/or tops in the community.
