Bootblack Pride

Jesse "Spanky" Penley gave us the design for the Bootblack Pride flag on October 6, 2005, at the International Leather Sir/Boy weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. Drawing inspiration from the Leather Pride flag, Mr. Penley used those colors but chose three diagonal stripes on a black field.

The width of the stripes is meant to signify the wide range of people who are or appreciate bootblacks, the unisex boot represents the non-gendered nature of bootblacking, while the large red heart behind the boot signifies the spirit of the bootblack and the heart they put into their work.
